Lesson: The Wondrous Women
Subject: English
Grade: Primary
Skills: Speaking, writing, and creative presentation.

This lesson plan aims to not only impart knowledge about these great woman personalities but also to inspire students and foster a sense of admiration and respect for the contributions of women in various fields.

Objective:
  • Students will learn about significant women personalities from India.
  • Students will understand the contributions of these women to various fields.
Materials:
  • Informational texts, articles, or short biographies about Mother Teresa, Kalpana Chawla, Shakuntala Devi, M.S. Subbulakshmi, Yamini Krishnamurthy, Sarojini Naidu, Rani Lakshmi Bai, and Mary Kom.
  • Whiteboard and markers or a multimedia presentation tool.
Introduction:
  • Begin with a brief discussion about the importance of recognizing and celebrating the achievements of women.
  • Introduce the names of the women personalities to be covered in the lesson.
Presentation: 
  • Use the below presentation to explain the achievements of the great women personalities.
  • Discuss each personality, their works, interests, services, and achievements. 
  • Inspire the students and foster a sense of admiration and respect for the contributions of women in various fields.
  • Download the PPT.
Individual or Group Presentation: 
  • Divide the students into small groups and assign each group one or two women personalities.
  • Provide the groups with informational texts or articles about their assigned personalities.
  • Instruct the students to read and extract key information about the life, achievements, and contributions of the women assigned to them.
  • Encourage students to use multimedia tools, pictures, or quotes to make their presentations engaging.
  • I have used Microsoft Flip Application to record my student's presentations.
    
Production:
  • Facilitate a class discussion by asking questions like:
  • What common traits do you observe among these women?
  • How did they contribute to their respective fields?
  • In what ways did they break societal norms or stereotypes?
  • Why is it important to learn about and celebrate the achievements of women?
  • Tell them to collect the great sayings of the great women personalities.
  • Tell them to create a poster using the sayings. Make sure to use their creativity. 
  • Use the below craft activity to decorate their classroom. (Optional)
    

Conclusion: 
  • Summarize the key points discussed during the lesson.
  • Assign a reflective homework task, asking students to write a short paragraph about which woman's personality inspired them the most and why.
