"The Pot of Wealth- An Innovative Learner Centered Story Transaction"

Topic: The Pot of Wealth Class: 4th Skills: Reading and speaking.
This is one of my best story transaction methods and also a learner-centered teaching strategy. I strongly believe that teaching-learning material will always give twin benefits to teachers and students to transact and understand a topic well. Innovation in the learning material is an added advantage to a teacher to stick their student's concentration and achieving the targeted standards easily. And also it changes your monotonous teaching strategy into a versatile transaction.                             The main hurdle in establishing English environment in the second language classrooms is, teachers are not proficient to simplify a story and transact for 40- 45 mints continuously in English. So in these situations, learning material will help the teachers to transact the story in an understandable way without switching into their mother tongue. Here is my another trail to transact a sto…

Unit Transaction of Teaching Time

Image
Lesson: TIME Grade: 2nd Academic Standards: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. Subject: English                               I think it is one of my best unit transactions. Children were engaged in different speaking, writing activities and ended the unit with a language game. And a watch model helps me to drag the children's attention towards the class. I think it vibrates the learning characters of all type of learners.           I started my lesson using the model and asked so many questions and elicited the answers from my students.  1. What is it? 2. What do you use for? 3. Have you ever seen? 4. How many numbers are there? 5. What are the numbers on the petals? 6. What is the time now? 7. What time do you wake up? 8. How many needles are there on a watch? 9. Are they same?                  Later I explained the parts and functioning of a watch. And then I explained how to read a watch and say the time.
Once they understood, I started asking time in English. I wrote …

Nice Activity on Modes of Transportation

Image
Class: 4th Lesson: Travelling  Academic Standards: Reading, Speaking, Writing and Creative Expression.
I thought it is a good activity to give an overall concept of transportation. Children were engaged very well and conceptual writing took place by this activity. It gave a clear knowledge of all types of vehicles which are not given in the lesson. Once I supplied the pictures of different types of vehicles, they pasted as per their medium on the chart.                               Once they pasted the pictures I asked them to write the names of the vehicles and write a sentence in which medium they travel. They wrote easily after I gave an example of how to write. The activity helped them to write a minimum of 10 sentences about transportation. They wrote
The bus travels on the road. The train travels on the rails. The Submarine travels under the water. The Aeroplane travels through the sky.
And then I asked my children to read those sentences in pairs…

I saw this activity on Pinterest and impressed very well. I planned to do this activity once I completed the topic. While I was teaching the topic I gave an idea of how to prepare the caterpillar-like this. The next day children came with the required material and prepared the caterpillar. They enjoyed a lot.
