"The Pot of Wealth- An Innovative Learner Centered Story Transaction"

Topic: The Pot of Wealth Class: 4th Skills: Reading and speaking.
This is one of my best story transaction methods and also a learner-centered teaching strategy. I strongly believe that teaching-learning material will always give twin benefits to teachers and students to transact and understand a topic well. Innovation in the learning material is an added advantage to a teacher to stick their student's concentration and achieving the targeted standards easily. And also it changes your monotonous teaching strategy into a versatile transaction.                             The main hurdle in establishing English environment in the second language classrooms is, teachers are not proficient to simplify a story and transact for 40- 45 mints continuously in English. So in these situations, learning material will help the teachers to transact the story in an understandable way without switching into their mother tongue. Here is my another trail to transact a sto…

Innovative grammar Activity-" Common Noun vs Proper Noun

Topic: Common Nouns vs Proper Nouns
Skills: Grammar, Speaking Reading, and Creative Expression.
Grade: 4th.

Grammar is a very difficult part to teach and learn to the children also. We cannot teach the grammar isolate in the primary classes since they don't have such a cognitive capacity to understand the rules. Hence we plan to teach the grammar in a contextual way. We derive the content from known to unknown and establish the rules finally. So I always plan to do different innovative activities to teach the grammar for my primary students where a learner can give his or her 100 percent attention and engage in the learning process.
I panned this activity to teach Common and Proper Nouns for my 4th-grade children. I designed this worksheet to do an activity with my students. Once I gave an explanation about the Common and Proper Nouns I announced to the class we will do an activity on this in the next period.              I started the class by playing the game "Sit and Stand." I instructed the class when I say common noun you have to sit and I say proper noun you have to stand. They enjoyed the game and got a clear idea on the difference between Common and Proper Nouns.
And then I gave this worksheet along with the A4 size chart piece. I asked my students to paste the worksheet on the chart. Later I asked them to clour the pictures and letters. And I instructed them to cut the windows shown in the pictures.
Now I asked my children to dived every window into two blocks one is for the common noun and the second one is for the proper noun. And then I asked them to write the Common and Proper Nouns belongs to a Person, Place, Thing, and Animal in the given the worksheet. I facilitated them to complete the activity and later they presented in front of the class. You can download the worksheet from the below link and watch my children's presentation in the below video. I hope you enjoy the post and plan to do in your class.
