"The Pot of Wealth- An Innovative Learner Centered Story Transaction"

Image
Topic: The Pot of Wealth Class: 4th Skills: Reading and speaking.
This is one of my best story transaction methods and also a learner-centered teaching strategy. I strongly believe that teaching-learning material will always give twin benefits to teachers and students to transact and understand a topic well. Innovation in the learning material is an added advantage to a teacher to stick their student's concentration and achieving the targeted standards easily. And also it changes your monotonous teaching strategy into a versatile transaction.                             The main hurdle in establishing English environment in the second language classrooms is, teachers are not proficient to simplify a story and transact for 40- 45 mints continuously in English. So in these situations, learning material will help the teachers to transact the story in an understandable way without switching into their mother tongue. Here is my another trail to transact a sto…

After a small interaction by giving some example sentences using the words, I told them we are going to play a language game.
Language Game: "Snow Ball Fighting"                It is one of the well-known language games to develop creative writing skills. I have used this game to stimulate my students to write about his/her friend using those adjectives during the transaction.

Image
Lesson: Nine or Ten Class: 3rd Language Skills: Reading, Speaking, and Creative Expression.
There are different teaching methods to teach reading part. Here I used the roleplay method to teach the reading of this lesson "Nine or Ten." Teaching in the same way and the same method may not give good results and not suitable for every content. So the teacher must attentive to method regarding the content. Create the English classroom environment is more important to acquire the language and involving the children in teaching is also important.                    This was a known story of a foolish young man and donkeys, given as a reading card in a unit. I asked my children to roleplay the lesson while I am reading the story rather translate the story into their mother tongue. Children enacted well. They understood the lesson very well without translating the story into the mother tongue. I used only my children as a resource to act. This teaching method helpe…

Language Game - Running Race

Image
This is a known language game to practice reading, writing and increase the grasping capacity of a child in a joyful learning way. We can use this game to practice or read and write the vocabulary and sentences. Especially it is useful to develop the memory skills and increase the learning capacity of a child.                               To play this, we need to pair the children first. In that pair, one will be the runner and another one is a writer. The writer has to write a sentence or word dictated by his partner (runner). First, we need to stick or place the vocabulary slips or sentences just distance from the writer or outside the classroom, which we are going to teach or practice by the children. Now instruct the pairs, the runner has to run outside of the class where the slips are placed, read and memorize the word or sentence, and come back to his or her partner (writer) who sits in the classroom. and dictate the sentence or word. Like the runn…
